British people have always celebrated the world over. The history of the great British Pubs is not only a place to drink beer, wine, or something a little bit stronger. It is to socialize with the people, focusing on community life in villages, towns, and cities all around the length and breadth of the country. It was the invading of the Roman army that first bought Roman pubs known as tabernae in 43 AD. These shops helped to quench the thirst of the troops. Ales are the native British brew that was eventually taken by up by the Romans and adapted it as tabernae to provide the locals with their drinks, these pubs were eventually called Tavern. Taverns and Alehouses both provide the people food and drinks whereas some Inns provide accommodation for some merchants, pilgrims traveling and court officials. In the rule of King Henry VII, the taverns and alehouses were called public houses and then they started calling them pubs. In 1552 an act was passed that a license is required in order to run a pub.
By 1577 it is estimated that there were some 17,000 alehouses, 2,000 inns, and 400 taverns throughout England and Wales. Taking into account the population of the period, that would be around one pub for every 200 persons. Talking about today, that same ratio would be approximately one pub for every 1,000 persons. Time to Time many different rules have been stated by the British to be included in the act of Pubs that has totally changed the Pub culture into nightlife for the people.
